Roseville Tunnel
Rehabilitation + Repair
The Roseville Tunnel was once an active railroad tunnel, blasted by dynamite in the early 1900’s. It had since been abandoned and returned to nature, only in use recreationally. Now NJ Transit has plans to bring rail service back through the tunnel to reach Andover, NJ.
Cruz installed the Initial Liner, which was the most concrete they ever placed on one project, about 5,000 cubic-yards! We utilized two shotcreters to place the concrete in the walls and brought it down to one as we went to the overhead orientation, for safety.

You can think of our crew as modern-day Michelangelo’s, shooting and finishing concrete for an entire summer, looking upward. Plus, all the concrete placed was mixed on-site by our female operator.
